I doubt it would, although I HAVE been told that it\'s not good to use a blue or splash bird (in place of a black one) when bringing the Lavender gene into a breed.....but this was with Cochins and Silkies.  But once you get white, you got white, right?

If I can find a nice one though, I\'d rather use a white male, but in the meantime the Lavender at least gives me another option, especially if that money tree in the backyard never produces!

I think that would vary depending on the hen\'s genotype...what\'s hidden underneath the white.

Blue would work but with more culls.
Our black, blue, splash, lavender and white Ameraucanas are all based on the same primary gene (E) at the e-locus.  Other than the color differences they are pretty much the same.  Black and splash are equally dominant, while white and lavender are both recessive.
