Special Meet, the \"Red Cedar Showdown\"

The ABC held a special meet Saturday, October 2nd, at the West Central Wisconsin Pigeon and Poultry Club show, Menomonie, Wisconsin.  In the open show 17 bantams and 10 large fowl Ameraucanas were exhibited.   Bob Walchak did it again with his bantams, winning champion AOCCL on a nicely conditoned and finished wheaten cockerel, and RB on a nice white pullet.    I think Bob said he is ready for Kentucky now.  Yours truly managed to sneak in reserve AOCCL with a Partridge Chantecler cockerel.   In the Ameraucana large fowl, Tom Stallman took Champion AOSB with a  Wheaten Ameraucana cockerel.  He also showed a very nice blue wheaten pullet;  his stock is from Barbara Campbell\'s line.   Member Jeff Sonsalla had RB large Ameraucana and Reserve AOSB with a nice black cockerel.    Jeff\'s daughter also took best AOCCL in the junior show with a wheaten hen.   It was a cool but sunny day in western Wisconsin.   There was a large farmers market right across the street from the show.   It is probably safe to say a good time was had by all at this 936 bird show.
