bathing

I am new to raising chickens.  Some times they eat the wet cat food and get their beards really messed up!  How do you bathe a chicken?!

I would think just a wet washcloth woulld suffice for a beard bath.  When I bathe mine they go in the kitchen sink to get wet down, soaped up and rinsed.
