penicillin

Jess:
has anyone ever used penicillin shots for large fowl?
I have given my blue wheaten rooster 2 shots, one yesterday and one today. I gave hem 1 1/2 CC in the leg. It seems to be working, the swelling has gone down and he can now open one eye.
HE got in a fight with another rooster and skinned his head and I think it has gotten infected.
