2014 National Meet Announced

Next year (2014), the Ameraucana Breeders Club National Meet rotates to the Eastern District and will be held during the Southern Ohio Poultry Association's Fall Show in Lucasville, OH on October 4th and 5th, 2014. I am currently working on several projects that will help increase our prize money and awards at the National Meet. I’m hoping to make it a very exciting and memorable event for every exhibiting member, and it will be one you will not want to miss!

As some of you may know, I am the author of a young adult novel series entitled, The Cloverleaf Series. There are 3 books (so far) in this series and information about them can be found on my website: sharonyorks.com - Once there, you can also read book reviews and the first chapters of all three books. They are targeted toward young adults, but are bought and loved by people of all ages.

I am donating 100 sets (300 books), and 100% of the proceeds will be used toward prize money and awards at our 2014 National Meet. I also have a personal challenge by someone who said if I can sell that many books, they would donate an additional $50.

These books would make great inexpensive gifts and/or Christmas presents! I can sign and personalize them to whoever you’d like, and I can even gift wrap and send them to a third party for you. The books are $5 each - $15 for the set (plus shipping), which would depend on the amount of books you wanted to order. 1 - 3 sets can fit into a flat rate padded envelope for $5.95. If you have any questions or special requests, please feel free to contact me. This is a great way to support the club and get something nice in return.

There will be a "New Member" raffle next year for anyone joining the ABC for the first time in 2014. Victor Hakes of Hakes' Twin City Poultry Supplies: http://www.twincitypoultrysupplies.com/store/ - has been kind enough to donate a brand new Hova-Bator 1588 incubator which will be given away at the 2014 National Meet where a name will be drawn. All new applicants are automatically eligible. This would be a great way to introduce our club to new potential members. Feel free to download the flyer and hand them out. Let me know if you need the flyer e-mailed to you. And be sure to check out the Hakes' Twin City Poultry Supplies website. That is where I buy most of my poultry supplies. Victor is great to work with and he ships fast.

One of my goals is to see that every variety class has prize money offered. If you’d like to donate and have your name listed on this sheet, please send me an e-mail (syorks4@gmail.com) with your name and the variety class you’d like to sponsor. You do not have to donate to the BV & RV. You can pick one or the other or both. And if you are an exhibitor, by all means pick the class you think you can win to get your money back! If, for some reason, a specific class does not have an entry or class winner, the prize money will carry over and be offered to the same class at the 2015 National Meet.

Example: If all spots are filled, but only one Blue Wheaten bantam is exhibited and wins BV, the $10 for the RV would stay in that specific spot and will be offered the following year at the next National Meet.

Hey Sharon, I'm really enjoying your books! I'm halfway through the second and I thought the parts where Cassie danced with Caylem and met his momma were adorable. Those scences definately made me smile. What a wonderful gift you have!

Can't wait ti pick up a set for my niece for Christmas. I love the message behind your books, and I look forward to sharing with her. She told me on Sunday she wants to ride horses and write books, lol.

I think just as many adults read them as do youth     You'll have to let me know what your niece says about them. I'm sure she'll also like the rodeo pictures in all of them.
