Breed Varieties Question?
« on: March 19, 2006, 12:58:24 PM »
I\'m sure this has been discussed, but I can\'t seem to find it...
In the Ameraucana,
Since different breeds have been used to make the different
varieties of Ameraucana (like most breeds),
Has anyone noticed any difference in the temperament, flighty
ness, assertive nature in relationship to the variety?
This is something I have oftened wondered about.
I really appreciate the nature of the Buffs.
Thanks, for any an all information.

I do have a variety comparisoin chart on the FAQ page of my site ChickHatchery.com.  Under the heading Docile I rate the temperment of the 16 varieties.  The ratings are my own opinions and not gospel.  If someone feels, from experience, that some of the ratings should be updated just let me know.  I do update them from time to time based on my experiences.
I think the buff LF are the most docile of all the LF due to thier Orpington heritage.
With bantams it is a toss-up between buff, wheaten/blue wheaten and white - I think.
