New Egg Color Cards!
Ernie Haire:
The wait may be worth it. I just hope that the new one will be more user friendly. I had one of the old ones, but finally threw it away. With my eyesight, it only frustrated me.

I think you'll like these new ones, Ernie...I'll post a likeness when we get to that point. It is an entirely new concept for egg color cards.
Don:
One advantage of a new color card could be if we have some egg colors from birds in the US. I think the card used by most clubs depicts color from British poultry. While these might be good for comparison, I don't know if they are complete for those normally seen here in the domestic flocks. But I do find it hard to find the colors to match eggs that I see.
Susan Mouw:
All of the colors on the new card will be from US birds, since we're re-doing the entire card and I haven't received any egg shells from any where else. :)
Susan Mouw:
Ok, I have a question for everyone.
In the pic below, the oval on the left is from one of my eggs, the picture on the right is from the existing egg color card. The oval shows more variation and gradation of color - from light to dark, pigment variation, etc.
Which do you prefer? Please note - the choice is for color, not for shape. The oval is not what will be on the final, new, egg card. :)
