Well, I had an exciting day yesterday at the Low Country Poultry show, hosted by my own club, Sandlappers Poultry Club. This was a double show.
First show, judged by Tom Roebuck, my black cockerel took BB and my blue wheaten hen took RB.
Second show was very interesting.
A black pullet, shown by Martin Hinton, took BB and my black cockerel took RB. Then, the judge, Dave Johnston, awarded the pullet CH AOSB and my cockerel Reserve AOSB. I started cooping out and when I came back in to get my black cockerel, his coop card was changed, with the Res AOSB blacked out and the black hen was changed with "Res" added above the CH AOSB. LOL
Never had that happen before, but it's all good.
The black pullet that won BB over my black K was bred here at Sand Castles Farm. It was Martin's first show and I think he got the bug. Talked him into showing at the Edgefield show in a few weeks, too.
