One of the most important items you can own to breed your Ameraucanas towards the standard is an American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection book.

This book goes into full detail on the breed standard, the descriptions for each approved color variety, defects, disqualifications, technical terms and a plethora of additional information that is useful regarding breeding your Ameraucanas towards the standard.

An American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection book can be purchased via the following link:

I keep copies of the current APA SOP for members to purchase at shows.  I am glad to encourage new folks and help with questions they may have also.  The next version of the APA SOP is supposed to be ready to coincide with the APA anniversary 2023. The new version will include the Self Blue Ameraucana LF in addition to several other varieties in other breeds.

We also keep a good variety of historical SOPs. The breed information is not relavent to the current Standard Requirement. The history of some of the Breeds and especially the images by true professional artists are most impressive.     drccash@yahoo.com
