Hurricane Laura
« on: August 26, 2020, 12:59:38 PM »
It looks like the forcasters underestimated this Storm and it's going to hit with Cat 4 winds and go straight inland on the line between TX and LA. I hope all our mmebers in that area are able to get to a safe place and are prepared for a time without power. God Speed and be safe where ever you may live and shelter.   drc

The damage along the coast and as much as 150 miles inland is substantial. It will take years for some of these areas to rebuild and find their new normal. Relief efforts started the day after the storm with many groups cooperating with local governments. Food and water was available in some areas the next day. And chainsaw and roof tarp teams were working in areas several hours north this week also. This effort will continue in some areas for years to help tear out and rebuild. There are many orgainizations that will help and are very happy to accept donations for this use.
