What is a club meet?
« on: August 15, 2021, 01:40:08 PM »
After a recent post regarding upcoming Ameraucana Breeders Club sanctioned meets, I received several PM’s from folks asking what a club meet is. Hopefully this post will be of help to someone out there!

The ABC places meets at the request of the membership. ABC members are eligible to earn exhibitor points and may qualify to receive rosettes at ABC sanctioned meets. Excerpts of our ABC meet policy are listed below:

The club has three tiers or levels where awards and points are awarded in Open Show competition.

• With three or more exhibitors of Ameraucana in a class (bantam or large fowl) a rosette is earned for Best of Breed.
• With five or more exhibitors of Ameraucana in a class (bantam or large fowl) a rosette is also earned for Reserve of Breed.
• In Junior competition, regardless of the number of exhibitors of Ameraucana in a class (bantam or large fowl), a rosette is earned for Best of Breed.

The Club will also award a Champion and Reserve Champion rosette for all National and District meets, in Open and Junior, if detailed in the accompanying meet report.

Nonmembers may count as exhibitors but are not eligible for club awards or points.

Club meets may be requested by any active ABC member, but can only be approved by the director of the district that the show is held in. Meet requests must be submitted a minimum of four weeks prior to the date of a show.
