Jeff, At the meeting held at the ABC National Meet in Norman Oklahona, Jean spoke on the difficulties placing the 2021 National Meet. Next years National is scheduled for the Western District. At this time the states of California, Oregon and Washington are closed to poultry shows due to Coronavirus restrictions. She had one option to secure a bid in Arizona but remarked it would be in desert area physically hard on exhibitors and entries. She asked for a 2 month reprieve on the 15th November deadline to announce a show location to try to find a suitable location.

Start hatching your LF now and pencil this date in on your calendar. Should be a great show!

Good Morning,
We wanted to let those that are coming to our show this September to know about the lodging situation during our show. Unfortunately when we scheduled our show the University of Wyoming football team had not yet come out with their schedule. It just so happens that a home game will be on the day of the show. That being said we are not able to secure a block of rooms at a host hotel. We will leave it up to you to decide what and where you want to stay. There are plenty of hotels in Laramie but we would advise to book sooner rather than later. Most rooms are starting around $250 a night. There are two other options as well if you don’t want to pay that. First being Little America. This hotel is on the west side of Cheyenne, Wyoming. It’s a 43 minute drive from there to the Fairgrounds. 47 miles to be exact, phone number is 307-775-8400. We do believe their rooms are cheaper. Secondly for those who have camper trailers. You can stay at the Fairgrounds for $30 a day will electric and water there for you. Contact Albany County Fair Grounds at 307-742-3224 for any other questions or to book a spot. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to us. We hope to see you all this fall!

Just wanted to share this with all of you. Thanks!

I hope you're brining some of those fine wheaten/bw of yours.
Any chance you bring a male?

Lol. The pullets are several weeks into laying and aren’t looking as robust as they do at POL. I will have to remember that when I hatch next season and plan accordingly. A pullet really does seem to look her best right at POL.

I think I may enter a wheaten and blue wheaten cockerel. I need to work on the hackle striping, but they look okay otherwise. My focus will finally get to be the hackles next season. I worked on combs this season. Speaking of which, I came across an article on Columbian and its effect on chickdown. I’m going to mark the chicks for fun this next season and check them at maturity to see if I notice a difference (Columbian is considered by some to possibly affect the hackle striping).

Also, if you want to, send me some pics of what you have available to work with in the cockerel department. If one of the males I don’t plan to use would help you I can try to bring it if I have room. Or, it may be that what you have is better! I have culled down to 8 at the barn and I only plan to keep four.
