Wheaten Wing Triangle disappeared after molt
« on: September 15, 2021, 01:29:37 PM »
I only kept one cock from last years breeding who had the best coloring. Didnt have the space for more since my wheaten bantams are just a fun pen and not a main focus here.

This guy is still filling out from his molt, his beard came in almost solid black after molt but the wing triangle is gone. His dad still had some wing triangle after his molt, would of been wise to hold onto him another year.

If anyone has an older cock or a line who retains the triangle well Id be interested in some eggs or a cock at some point 👍 especially if attending the Dixie Classic in December.

I don't have any bantams so can't help with that.
I've got LF Wheaten and Blue Wheaten and I've seen the females do this, but not the males.

Ive heard it happening but never seen it this bad. At least its just a pet pen and nothing overly concerning. Just doesnt look near as sharp as they do with the wing bows lol.
