Miquel,

As a club the ABC has adopted the same egg shell color chart as the American Araucana Club and the British Araucana Club. The chart was developed by Frank Demar from the British Araucana Club using dry shell samples from across the world.

The complete link and samples may be found at http://www.ameraucana.org/abcforum/index.php?a=topic&t=646

100 ABC Egg Color Reference Charts have been printed and are now available thru our club Secretary. The Board of Directors has set the prices at $3 for one or 2 for $5.

I have never had any luck with taking a decent picture of an egg so I have reverted to the chart for my shell color references.

If you go to the link below you will see a photo of a basket of large fowl wheaten eggs, from Barbara Campbell, as part of the article on Ameraucanas.  This photo shows the blue color that many of us are striving for with the Ameraucana breeds, varieties and strains.

I hope you saw Jean\'s egg color post . . . it is just about as good as you can get in egg photos and shows the difference between sky blue and turquoise.
