Large fowl wheaten/blue wheaten

Paul:
They have improved greatly over the past five years but the same challenges, plus one more is still an issue.  The brown edging on the males sickles has lengthened and become wider.

Tailfeathers:
The WBS variety is the only variety I have been and currently still breed and show.  I'm sitting here trying to think of what has been missed and, honestly, between Mike's commments and especially those of Paul, I think it's all been covered.

So, I thought I'd pipe in quickly to say "Welcome Aboard" and I'm doggone glad to see you're taking an interest in what I think is the best variety of Ameraucanas out there!

God Bless,

Royce

Schroeder:
Thanks for the update Paul, and thanks for the Welcome Royce.  I look forward to meeting you someday. I realize I've taken on quite a challenge with the WBS's but I happen to think they are the most attractive variety, and you just have to love all the Ameraucanas.  If I had the time, space, and money, I'd have some of each.

Schroeder:
John recommends culling chicks early based on phenotype.  What specifically might I look for to identify those chicks that are unlikely to develop to SQ?  Unrelated, but still regarding WBS, what weight should I expect in my hens?  The three I am using each are slightly under 4 1/2 lbs.  Are others regularly seeing 5lbs or better, or are we all working towards that together?
