A new competition for photos for the ABC Gallery will begin on June 1st. Every month, a new variety will be selected for folks to send their images in of adults, chicks, young started birds. The best photos will then be selected by a panel of judges: Walt Leonard, Rip Stalvey, and Tom Roebuck.
The winning photos will be announced and used in our ABC Gallery.
The first month begins June 1st and entries will close on June 15th, so dust off those photos and get them sent in! The first variety is for Brown Red Ameraucanas. You can send pics of adult male and female (profile shots preferred), chicks (group images ok), and young started birds.
The goal is to have the best representation of each variety, at the various stages of development, in our gallery.
Pictures must be a minimum of 600px wide x 400 px high to be included. Send your photos to info@ameraucanabreedersclub.org and put "Gallery Competition" in the subject line.

What are the age requirements or age looking to be used on the juvenile/started birds?

No age restrictions, just let me now approx age when you send in the picture.

Entries are now open for the first contest - brown red Ameraucanas - bantam and large fowl.
Send your pics in to info@ameraucanabreedersclub.org and just tell me the sex and approx age of the birds pictured. Also, let me know if bantam or large fowl.
Let's get those pics in!

While we're waiting for the Judges to evaluate the entries for the Gallery competition for Brown Red Ameraucanas, start getting your pictures of your Silver Ameraucanas, both large fowl and bantam, ready to go!

The judging for the June Gallery Competition, with Brown Red Ameraucanas, is complete. The entries were not as numerous as I would like to see and the only gallery image that changed is the Brown Red large fowl chick, submitted by Mel Pace.
No entries for bantam Brown Reds were submitted.
Congratulations to Mel Pace! Your picture of the brown red Ameraucana chick is already up in the gallery!

Entries for the July competition, for Silver Ameraucanas, close in three days, on the 15th. Then they will be turned over to our panel of judges for evaluation. I will announce the winners here, after August 1st.
The next competition, for August, will be Buff Ameraucanas - both large fowl and bantam - so get those pictures sent in to info@ameraucanabreedersclub.org.

The winners of the September Gallery Competition for Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas are in! This was the biggest submission we've had yet in large fowl and lots of great pics of beautiful birds! We owe our panel of judges: Rip Stalvey, Walt Leonard, and Tom Roebuck, who donate their time and experience for the long run of this project, a great big "Thank You!"
Sadly, there were no new submissions for bantam Blue Wheatens, so those images will not change on the website. The other winning photos have been added to the Large Fowl tab of our gallery.

Next up for October - Blue Ameraucanas, so get those pictures in! Send your submissions to info@ameraucanabreedersclub.org and be sure to put "Gallery Competition" in the subject line. Please identify each image as to chicks, pullet, hen, cockerel or cock and large fowl or bantam.
Pics should be a minimum of 640w x 400h pixels. While pictures taken outside have some amazing views, if the bird is covered in grass up to their hocks, it isn't a good representative of the variety, so please - watch your backgrounds in the pics, as well as checking to make sure the full bird is shown.
