Ameraucana Marketplace / Request for Over Seas Shipping hatching eggs.
« on: April 08, 2017, 01:27:00 PM »
Please be advise,  I have gotten many request to ship hatching eggs over seas.  I am not interested into acquiring the proper documentation which is necessary to ship over seas.  You must go to the USDA site to see what are the requirements to ship to the country of interest.

Sometimes you can cull the day olds by coloring they express on blacks, blues and maybe splashes.

Ravynscroft,  Thanks for the offer.  I only have one white cockerel now but not worried as long as I get some offsrpings from him I will have them next years hatch.
I really don[t remember selling any hatching eggs after 2008 because my wife wanted to sell eggs not me so much and she passed away in 2009.
What is a white-lavender?  I have lavender in different shades some are very light almost white to those pewter darkies.
Someone must have crossed the birds with white unless there was a fluke but after 10 years never had a white hatch yet out of my stock ohterwise I would not have bought a white bird this past year.

After hatching for well over 10 years in the lavender project never had a white chick hatch since I only ever had one white hen that I culled after using once on a black.  I have had lavenders Ameraucanas and especially Orpingtons hatch very, very light and other people mistake them as white until placed next to a white.  I suspect there was other genes involved that had some type of inhibitor gene to make them lighter than the average lavender I produce.  I know my lavenders are geneally lighter that a lot of other people out there.  I wish I would have gotten a white though since I bought 3 white chicks and now I only have one cockerel left from the three and have to use him over my blacks and blues till I get a few split for next year.

Paul, yes Christina Korfus got two cockerels from me in Lavender Ameraucanas.  She also got eggs that were Orpingtons but can't remember the color may have been whites/cuckoos.

Cindy had her birds for several years before she quit.  I think she sold the original birds to some one.

DeWayne Edgin,  Cindy Aultman got her start from some cheap eggs I sold her in either 2007 or 2008.  I sold them to people to try and promote the color but unfortunately everyone was cashing in on my work so I stopped selling to people.

The same thing happened to me with the lavender Orpingtons and lavender Araucanas by one individual who said he created them.

Sorry to hear the male self blues have issues.  I have seen self blue in bantams of other breeds that the cocks and cockerels were excellent coloring.   Perhaps it has to do with how they are bred possibly.

That was one reason I was not interested in showing them.  I have had them for 10 years since I have one original strain of LF unrelated to the other breeder that has another strain.  I was not a member of APA for 5 years but if you are right I waisted my money joining the APA for the last 3-4 years.  Was under the impression it had to be the 5 members that needed to show.  Thanks for the insight.

I thought that you needed 5 breeders who have bred the qualifying birds for at least 5 years and had to be members of the APA for 5 years and signed an affidavit that is what they had done.  Plus it had to be those 5 breeders to exhibit to be qualifying.  Did I read something incorrect?

I would suggest a blue or splash wheaten male if you are interested in color phase that is more striking.

What is the cut off date to apply?

Breeding / Re: Breeder selling to hatchery?

Well if every bird from any breeder is 100% SOP it would be wonderful.  At least these hatcheries have conformed to what has been requested of them to be truthful.
