Title: Hatcher leaking?
Post by: KalJen Farm on January 18, 2013, 10:54:49 AM
Hi everyone. I was walking by my hatcher this morning and it realized  that the bottom of my GQF cabinet hatcher is damp and leaking. The back left corner is dripping water onto the carpet. Its odd cause its not coming from the water tray on the top. Any info would be helpful. My mom isn't please cause its rotting her carpet.

p.s. My incubator is fine. Just the hatchers thats giving me issues.

A pan on the floor to catch the dips would be a good idea until the problem is fixed.
If the water pan didn't overflow I would assume the humidity is way too high, but I'm sure you have a hydrometer to check it.  Check the vent holes on the back and make sure the top and bottom holes are open the same amount.  Air comes in thru the top and out thru the bottom.  Open them more to lower the humidity.

Did you check the clip where the hose attaches to the water pan (if you are using a water container on top of the hatcher)? The hose should be tight against the water tray and the clip as tight against the water tray as  possible.
