I'll get the full report done over the next day or so, but it was a great weekend at Heart of Dixie! For the first time since I've been showing there (this was my third year at that show), we had a great line-up of Ameraucanas. 19 LF with 4 exhibitors and 4 bantams with 1 exhibitor!

Reserve CH AOSB, both shows - black Ameraucana hen, shown by Lindsay Helton.
Lindsay took home some other Best of Varieties, as well, in blue wheaten, buff, white, and self-blue. I got another Best of Variety in one show with my blue pullet and she took Reserve BV in the second show.

We enjoyed showing birds at this poultry show. Here are a few photos from the Heart of Dixie show. I tried to get good photos, but I have found that taking pictures of chickens takes a bit of skill. Lol The first photo is Susan's black pullet, which took BB and Champion AOSB.

Thanks for the pictures Lindsay. It's almost like being there to see the pictures. The ABC needs to buy a airline with cheap fares for all ABC members. That way we all can make those far away shows!

Due to other conflicts, I was not able to make the Central Indiana Poultry Club Show in Lebanon, IN over the weekend. Hannah Brush filled for me and did a great job. She deserves all the kudos ABC members can give! Thank you Hannah! I am sorry that I missed such a great show. Here is a report from the show floor:

5 exhibitors in open show 31 bantams 24 large fowl. Black large fowl champion aosb.
Junior 8 exhibitors 16 bantams 12 large fowl black large fowl champion aosb wheaten hen rev.aoccl.

Congratulations to everyone who exhibited Ameraucanas at this show. It is a show that we were hoping to be able to attend, but things just didn't work out. I am glad to see that our breed was well represented. We hope to be able to make it next year.

Of course, I wasn't in top form at this show. Without help from others, especially Lindsay Helton, I don't know if I would have even been able to get cooped in. And that's all they got! Taken from the show boxes and put in the coops - no prep at all! lol
