I would like to know how people candle blue eggs. I use a homemade light box that works great for my brown egg breeds. However, my Ameraucana eggs are another story. I don\'t like to leave infertile eggs in my incubator as they take up space. Is there a candling light that I can purchase that has worked well for anyone? Also, I would like to send my heartfelt best wishes to the Paul Smith family. Thank You!

Type in the word you\'re looking for and maybe narrow your search down by looking for topics older than 3 months, since it was probably a year ago that we talked about this. I use a mini mag light that was purchased at the local hardware storeit was about $9.00. I also candle all my eggs at 4 days durning the night hours so every thing is dark. The eggs that are not looking fertile get an x on them and checked again at 7 days. The eggs that are fertile have a darker shadow in them about 2/3 of the way down, the ones that are unfertile have the yolk on the top.
