The Board of Directors has concluded our discussion on what color variety the ABC will seek approval for next! The splash variety in large fowl and the self blue variety in bantam were discussed. After reviewing our counts, over 30% of our members raise the blue and splash varieties in large fowl while only 5% of our members raise the self blue variety in bantam. The Board concluded that an approval process for large fowl splash will be pursued next with the American Poultry Association. South Central District Director Paul Smith has offered to be the spokesperson during the process. This will be a lengthy approval process that will involve a concerted effort by numerous Ameraucana breeders across the US to be successful. It is great to be a part of the Ameraucana Breeders Club! We are continually striving to further the Ameraucana breed. We are pursuing acceptance for large fowl splash Stephan. The effort will be a lengthy and exciting process. I hope you will be able to participate!
