Had a 4-H question from a youth whether his bird can be called Silver? It looks like it\'s an Easter egger, but having no experience with this color or juvenile plummage, I said I\'d ask the experts. I was told the bird is sixteen weeks.
Thanks

No.
I would say since they have ee\'s it is an ee. I have hatched some silver cockerels that have had what looks to be alot of mottling, but they always had more black feathers. This guy looks like he is white with black.

Thanks. That\'s what I thought, not enough black feathering. He just didn\'t look like the adult pictures, but I wanted an expert opinion.

Very interesting mess of a color! I wonder if he might have the mottling gene. He sure has white and black, both. He also has dark legs!

Wow! That\'s a crazy looking bird!

Yes, probably one copy, and a little autosomal red (Ar) in the wings too.

That\'s the one thing I miss about EEs. I love trying to figure them out the unique colors! (Ok, more like watching while you guys do... ;))
