News and Information / Bantam self blue Ameraucana qualifying meet

A group of breeders held the first qualifying meet for bantam self blue at the Ohio National poultry show this past weekend. It was a success. Per a participant the second qualifying meet will be held next December in Shawnee, OK. The participants were Emily Garland, Heidi Grable, Don Cash, Anna Babst-Perez, Tracy Buck, Samantha Brown Muddy Acres Farm, Jamie Shirley, Zyanne Nguyen, and Laney Hawk.

The splash variety was officially approved in large fowl for the Ameraucana breed at the Ohio National poultry show in Columbus, OH on 11/10/23. Full report to follow!

Great news! Membership dues are prorated to 25% for the remainder of 2023 when you purchase one full year for 2024!

* Juniors pay $12.50 for a membership through 2023

* Individuals pay $15.00 for a membership through 2023

* Families pay $22.50 for a membership through 2023

You are automatically entered into the new member drawing that will take place at our 2024 ABC national meet. You do not have to be present to win!

The purpose of the Ameraucana Breeders Club is to encourage the continued improvement of Ameraucana bantams and large fowl through breeding, exhibition and dissemination of relevant information. Our new members receive a handbook that is packed with useful breeding information, quarterly newsletters, forum access, are eligible to earn exhibitor points and can qualify for rosettes. Members can list their hatching eggs, chicks and adult birds for sale in our three Breeder’s Directories!

The ABC would like to extend our congratulations to Aaron Hickson for being the recipient of our 2023 Lifetime Achievement award.

Aaron joined the organization in 2010 and achieved Master Exhibitor in 2022. He signed an affidavit to help the ABC begin our large fowl splash approval effort. Aaron is very active in showing his Ameraucana.
