Below are several of the activities planned for the 2014 National Meet. I hope everyone is planning to attend. More will be announced soon.
There will also be a $20 Gift Certificate to Hakes Twin City Poultry Supplies given to the member who has traveled the farthest distance (with their birds) to compete and exhibit them at the National Meet.

JUNIORS...Don't forget about the 2 junior contests. You can find posters for both toward the top of this post if you scroll back up. Be sure to get your entries in before the deadline.

Hi, Sharon in was wondering what variety of of breeding Bantam trio is it going to be?? ;D
-
And were do I get the the entry form??
-
Hi, Hannah!
You don't have to have an entry form, just follow the instructions on the flyer. If you are sending an essay to Mike Gilbert (address should be on flyer), just write a cover letter with all of your contact information.
I believe he said that it looks like it will be a white trio, but I'm not 100% sure.
Best wishes on your contest entry! :)

I was quite sure the variety would be white - until discovering all those white chicks running around were cockerels - all but one. So more likely buff this year I'm afraid. But there have been zero entries to date.

Come on Juniors! Don't be afraid or shy. This event is especially for you, besides Mike needs something to do!

My daughter, 14 years old, is writing and essay on why she likes Bantam Ameraucana. :)
-
Sharon, I have 1 bantam chick that is either black or blue, a few weeks old right now, that I could donate, if you are interested. I originally purchased a blue bantam pair from Jerry DeSmidt, bred them, then sold the pair and chicks; minus this one that landed in my next incubator batch with the blue wheatens.

If you are referring to the Ameraucana auction fundraiser, sure. As long as it will be old enough and won't need to be under a heat source. It would be nice to have more bantams for the auction so thank you very much :-)
-
Sharon,
It won't need a heat lamp by then, so I'll bring it to the show for the auction.
Shakti :-)

Great ~ Thank you!

Junior Contests...
As of today, August 23rd, exactly one entry has been received for the Juniors' essay contest. The deadline is September 1st. This is just a reminder for all the procrastinators.
-
May the essay be typed or is hand written preferred?
-
Typed is good, but hand written is fine as long as it is readable.
-
Mike, my son is preparing an essay and asked if it could be emailed to you? If so, what address?
Thank you so much for sponsoring this!
