Title: Website Search Function
Post by: Susan Mouw on June 23, 2016, 07:19:25 PM
For all the years that we've had a forum, we've had a way to search through all the topics and posts and find relevant information.  It's been a great tool when you're trying to find specific answers - especially as the forum gets bigger and bigger every year.

During the transition to the new domain and hosting, I realized just how big our website had become!  It's huge!  Our sitemap has over 200+ pages and that is after I stripped out all the forum stuff (it was 1100 pages before that).  And, with that big of a site, we needed a search engine to search our site for relevant information, too.

Now we have one.  At the top of the home page, just below the main menu and to the right, is a search bar for searching the website.  This is only for our site - it isn't designed to search the whole wide web.

If I type in the search bar "Black Amerauana", I'll get a window that shows me two options - all the text that has Black Ameraucana, and all the images that are tagged as "Black Ameraucana"
