Title: Blue Wheaten and Wheaten Female differences
Post by: Guest on May 06, 2009, 07:00:22 PM
I could not see a whole lot of differences here between these two types of hens. The tail of the wheaten has black and might be a little darker.  Anything else I\'m missing?  Sure is a beautiful hen.

The blue wheaten female has grey in the tail and in the wing feathers (hidden when folded).   Otherwise they are very similar, except the dominant Bl gene that changes black to grey also seems to lighten the wheaten feathers in some strains as well.
