Title: what do you call them ?

when introducing outside breeds or EEs to improve our ameraucana varieties, are the offspring considered EEs?  Are F1, F2, etc. considered EEs until the changes we desire are set and will reproduce 50% of the time?  If, years into a breeding program, we get a throwback, is it considered ameraucana, EE, or Sunday dinner?

IMHO, regardless of the parentage...if a bird meets the APA standard description to the extent that it could be exhibited in a sanctioned show and not be disqualified by a licensed judge it is an Ameraucana.

I will have to respectfully disagree.   An Ameraucana is by definition a variety that breeds predictably true to type and coloring at least 50 percent of the time.   I think we had a vote on that a couple of years ago.   I would include non-standard but recognizable colors in that definition.  For example a lavender would qualify.   But a brown red or birchen looking bird out of a white and a black most likely would not.
