Title: Blacks to black/lavender splits ????
Post by: eliz on April 10, 2010, 07:28:22 PM
Hello everyone...I am new on this list and live in Washington State. I have had real black Ameraucanas for 2 plus years but they all are female. Last year i hatched some black/lavender splits and they are now close to breeding age. My question is; i have choice of 3 black split males. (one has gold on his shoulders),
I would like to breed the black females but do not know if using the Black -lavender split males would ruin the line since Lavender breeds differently than the black/blue/splash. If it wouldn\'t be good i would rather wait til i found a male, or wait till the beautiful black chicks that i received recently grow up.

Also as mentioned, one of the splits has gold in its shoulders. should he be cut from production?

Thanks for your help, eliz

Hi again, apologize, should have looked again before posting. The split with gold feathering, its his tail coverts area NOT his shoulders. sorry, eliz
