Five newly hatched from my BW pair (there are two buff leghorn chicks too). I am very pleased with these chicks. Waiting on one more egg and gave the broody another batch to try and hatch.

I\'m glad to see that I\'m not the only person out there still hatching chicks in late August. I was beginning to think for sure that I\'ve lost it and really am a nutcase!
The birds are all out of their breeding pens now though. In another month I\'ll be able to turn off the incubator!

I\'ve got a broody on another clutch due very soon.

Looking good so far! Some of my best birds have come from late hatches. But winter can be hard on them unless they get some supplementary heat.

I\'m pleased as punch so far, looks like two cockerels, one wheaten and one BW. As usual, time will tell.
