This was the 2011 Northeast District Meet:
Exhibitors:
Harold Knapp

and Me
Our large fowl Best of Breed was Doug and Cindy Dillingham\'s blue cock:

My BW hen took Reserve of Breed:

I think I will name her Dufuss, she refuses to groom her tail after bathing. Now that she is back home and in the coop with the rest of the flock she looks like a super star!
:( Brat
There was one bantam entry, a white hen but I now realize I failed to photograph her.

There were several other hens, pullets, cockerels that I didn\'t photograph but it was a nice big group of ameraucanas shown. Harold tells me there are a lot of NE members, we need you folks to all consider attending and showing your birds.
I\'m hoping to have a trio entry for next year.

Congratulations everyone! Beautiful birds!!
-
I heard that it was freezing....maybe they will use a heated building next year.
-
No doubt, Friday evening was very cold! Saturday dawned pretty cold but I have seen worse there. It was freezing outside but not in the show hall, it\'s heated and I spent all day there on Saturday and was comfortable.
On a positive note, it was sunny all weekend and on Sunday morning it was MUCH warmer and all was well for sure. Cooping out I was in a light sweat shirt. Such is New England!
Tonight\'s News says -20 for the coming weekend here in central Vermont.
I might say that is getting cold around here. ;)

Congratulations to all! Based on the photos, which of course can be deceiving sometimes, it looks like the best bird won.
I like the head and good heavy build, tail angle, etc. on the blue cock bird. Now if he only had some lacing!

Mike,
I agree, in fact I talked to Doug and Cindy and told them I really liked their heavy bodied birds. I\'d like to put that into my blue wheatens.
:p

A great show and a good time. It was good to see Harold and Ann again this year.
Yes it was cold outside, but it was plenty warm inside.
There were around 2500 birds shown.
Thanks for taking photos Ann.
