Title: Show brag
Post by: Providence Hill on November 19, 2011, 08:59:23 PM
Just home from the Virginia Poultry Breeders Association show, and my 9-year-old daughter took Reserve Champion Bantam in the junior show with her blue wheaten cockerel.  This was the first year that she crossed her own birds, incubated the eggs, and culled for the best, so it was a real thrill for her to do so well.

Sorry not to have better pics, he\'s glaring at his daddy in the next cage.

He has a beautiful beard, but I\'m a little worried that it won\'t last.  His father just went through his first molt, and his beard changed from gray to dark orange, and he has lots of orange in his breast now.  We\'re hoping this guy isn\'t a one-year-beauty too.  Is this a common problem?
