Title: PPBA ABA National Stockton, CA
Post by: Jean on January 29, 2013, 12:15:34 PM
What a pleasant weekend down in Stockton!  No snow and raging night time temps in the forties. ::)

I got to meet Don Cable and had a very nice time.

BB LF Ameraucana was a black cockerel by Logan Miller
RB LF Ameraucana was a black cockerel by Jean Ribbeck

BB Bantam Ameraucana was a wheaten pullet (?) by Logan Miller
RB Bantam Ameraucana was a black pullet (?) by Larry Giberson

Champion Ameraucana was the wheaten pullet and Reserve was the black cockerel both by Logan Miller!!!!!

In other news, my goose did very well again and placed Reserve Waterfowl.  (423 waterfowl)

3851 birds were shown, 140 AOSB and 307 AOCCL.

Again congratulations Logan, very well done.  8)

Thanks for the report Jean, and congrats on your wins.    Do you happen to remember how many LF and bantam Ameraucanas were shown?  Judges?

Congratulations to all!   I've seen Logan's Bantam Wheatens and they are nice.

Out of curiosity, how many LF W & BWs were there?

God Bless,

I don't know Logan.   Is he an ABC member?  Does anyone know where he got his start in wheaten bantams?

Mike,

There were 33 bantams and 47 LF shown.  A bunch of the large fowl were ee's though.

There were two blue wheaten birds shown, a pullet and a hen and one "wheaten" cockerel (ee).

Logan is a new junior member that I signed up at the Salem show in October.  I believe his bantam wheatens are from Larry Giberson and his LF are from Paul.

The juniors were judged in the open show.

Anthony Ashley was the bantam judge and I can't remember the name of the LF judge, sorry.

Congratulations :D

Mike,
Larry bought a box of 25 "hatchery choice" bantams from me a couple years ago, but I'm not sure what varieties were included.  I was still offering wheatens at the time.

Ah ha!    Pretty much all the good bantams originated in the upper midwest.   At least they go back to those lines.

I met Logan and Larry at the show last November and if I remember correctly Larry did tell me that he got Logan his start in the WBS Bantams.

God Bless,

I believe the AOSB judge was Troy Laroche.
