We just picked up a 10 week old rooster, who needed a new home. He is adjusting well. He is trying to show the girls that he is now King (boss)!!! We were told he is an Ameraucana? He does have green legs and tuffs on his face. I would like to know if he truley is an Ameraucana? I hope this pic will help. I am trying to get other pics smaller with no luck. Thanks Lee

Hi Lee,
Welcome!
Unfortunately I can\'t see the picture very well, but from your description he is an Easrter Egger not an ameraucana, he would have slate leggs, or black which is alowed in some varities, and pink/white foot bottoms. not green leggs..but you can still enjoy him the way he is..but to get \"rea\" ameraucanas, the best bet is to find a local breeder.

tuffs
The photo isn\'t very clear, but he probably has muffs rather than tufts.
Araucanas and some Easter Eggers have tufts. Check out this website for some photos of birds w/tufts. http://www.browneggblueegg.com/Araucana.html
