Is duckfoot a genetic issue, or can it be due to inbreeding? If caused by inbreeding, does this eliminate the affected bird for breeding (will it be passed on to it\'s offspring)?

Duckfoot can be genetic and inbreeding could be a factor. It can also be caused by environmental factors, too long in shell at hatching, etc. Duckfoot is a disqualification for all breeds in any poultry show. Birds with duckfoot should not be used for breeding.

Barb, I concur 100% with Curtis. But don\'t forget to keep at least two lines going as we had discussed before.
