Title: Adult color?
Post by: Guest on February 19, 2007, 08:33:16 PM
I have a couple ameraucana chicks and they are the cutest, sweetest chicks.  Could anyone tell me what color they will be as adults.  One looks kind of like a chipmunk (possibly a silver?) and the other one looks just like the dark brown one on this site.

It is the 2nd picture from the bottom.  It looks just like the chick on the right of the 3 set that just says \"ameraucana chicks\".
The one that looks like a chipmunk is realllllly big and fluffy.  Does that possibly mean it could be a rooster???  I am new to raising chickens.  Thanks!

cgray,

We have a lot of pictures of the eight different colors of chicks and adult chickens on this site.  There is a link on the home page.

If you did not buy these directly from an ameraucana breeder, they are most likely easter egger chicks.  A real ameraucana breeder would know what color they are selling you if you ask.

Have fun with your chickies.
