The Pacific Poultry Breeders Association (January 24-25, 2009, Stockton, CA) has inquired whether we have any club members interested in a state or special meet at their next show. Please contact Michael@bantamhill.com if you are a member interested in a meet at the show.
Lisa Cree, if you are interested in this meet for the District meet please let me know.

Thanks Michael, I just sent you an e-mail.
Sorry for the delay. Gary and I recently got back from Utah.
I\'d love to hear from any members interested in a Meet in Stockton CA. The Pacific Poultry Breeders Association puts on a firt class show. It really is worth the drive if you can make it. We didn\'t attend this year but the last couple years were a lot of fun.
Warmest regards,
Lisa Cree

This one is right in my backyard. I would attend, for sure, but I\'d have to scrounge for something to show since I don\'t breed for the recognized colors.
I do happen to have two new blue bantam hens and some eggs in the \'bator...

You could always show your black gold - they would be AOV.

Hi Lyne
It\'s a really nice show and in January, so time to grow up some promising birds.

I didn\'t know I could show AOV. Could I show any ole mixed color, or do I need a working copy of a standard?
Anyway, yes, then I would show.

A variety that has a standard description like self blue or a color is being developed like black gold that does have a description put together by the club.

It is counterproductive to show birds in nondescript colors that have little or no chance of ever getting into the standard.
If a judge has nothing written down as a guide, he or she has nothing to go by in making the placings. When we show varities like black gold, we should provide the judge with a copy of our proposed standard. We had one written up a number of years ago - not sure I have a copy any more. Michael?
-
If a copy of a black gold standard is found could it be placed on the website for viewing and download? Since the APA has copyright on other accepted varieties, would sharing an as yet to be accepted variety be disallowed by the APA?
Thanks greg

I will look for it and post it . . . I have it somewhere.
