My first generation in the bantams actually got a blue laced brick red. I also have a F1 generation in the large fowl with the F2 in the brooder.
Anyone else want to play? I hate to have all the eggs in one basket so to speak...

I have had blue laced red in Wyandottes. Somehow they never seem to be as good as the golden laced. I plan to discontinue them, as have more than enough other breeding projects going here. What did you cross to get these?

I used a bantam BLR wyandotte over my black gold hens.

I have one, maybe 2. Look just like yours, only mine were with a black Ameraucana and blrw, standard size. I\'ll try & take a picture tomorrow. I am partial to the blrws so have not let it (them) go yet. Actually, I mostly forget their there....
It was an accident. I thought the Ameraucana was a hen, so I had her/him in with my blrws until the 1st of December, when I realized my mistake.
The 2 I have, hatched in March! There goes the theory that you only have to wait 3 weeks for a hen to be clear!

I was glad that the BLRW didn\'t have good wyandotte type. I figure that will be easier to get back to Ameraucana type. The F-1 generation is quite stout, though. Beautiful birds, but not true to either type.
By the way, the blue laced brick red cockerel is an F-2 large fowl. Silly me thought he was a bantam. They are big bantams, but not THAT big! Still, I was pleased to see him in the F-2! I went throught a LOT of birds to finally see the color I was after!
My goal is to have exciting color on the bird and not just the egg! Why would Easter Eggers get to have all the fun?

Hi,
I have one cockerel that is a blrw/ameraucana cross.
He doesn\'t have lacing, but is more like a blue wheaten, with pinkish-grey legs.

I can\'t believe how many different colors I got in the F-1. I have salmon, a spangled (white spots), silver, black with with, gold, red, splash... amazing mess. A very small percentage are red with any tipping at all, ever fewer with any lacing.
I also had waaay too many chicks hatched. I\'ll be glad when this year is over.
