Does anyone have a picture of a splash blue wheaten pullet?
I looked for some on the forum and found a topic, but alas the picture is no longer there.

Jean, I don\'t have a picture for you, but just picture a blue wheaten with white where the blue is. Two copies of Bl should also lighten the tan areas somewhat, but it is still a light tan.

I wanted it for another chicken forum I belong to. A person hatched some eggs from a prominant breeder and the chick looks a little off, but I assured her it was bred correctly.
It did, however turn out to be one of those darned throwbacks with a clean face, but I thought maybe it was a splash.
I hope you find it Barbara.
You know, I have a blue wheaten cock over two wheaten hens and five or six blue wheaten hens and have yet to get a splash chick.....

Jean, I found it but my file is too big to post here and because I have it saved to a disk, I can\'t figure out how to resize it. So, I\'ve sent a copy to your email address. Maybe you can resize it and post it here if you want.

It seems no matter how carefully I select my breeders, I get a few recessive clean faced chicks and 1 or 2 recessive whites every year.

Not to be critical, but I think you mean \"splash wheaten\" like this one.
And below is a \"splash\". Both are Barbara\'s birds from 2002.

Yes, that\'s what I meant. But I need a pullet/hen picture.

Jean, I\'m quite certain the pic I sent is of my BV AOV splash wheaten pullet #7 pink band. Here is another shot of her. The only difference in a splash wheaten female from a wheaten or blue wheaten is in the color of the flight feathers and tail feathers. They are white rather than blue or black.
I am color blind and do have more difficulty with colors on screen, so if I\'ve posted the wrong bird do let me know. I don\'t think so though, I still have her and she is a splash wheaten. If this doesn\'t work, I\'ll take a new pic of her.

I\'ve figured out how to resize the pics on my disk. Here is the pic I sent to Jean. Do correct me if this is a blue wheaten.

It had a white #20 band and said BV blue wheaten pullet 2006. I appreciate the effort and that\'s all the matters... :)

Just wanted to say \"Thanks!\" for this posting and those pics. I\'ve got BW and Wheatens that I\'ll be breeding this year and have my breeding plan set up so as to hopefully get a few Splash.

Glad to have you along, glad you enjoy the site. I think our administrators do a fabulous job. We\'ll have to admit those splash wheaten males are our most \"patriotic\" variety (red, white, and blue).

R.E., here is a pic of a mature splash wheaten male I hatched a couple of years ago I thought you\'d enjoy seeing. He didn\'t have the best comb but was a nice bird otherwise.
