Title: Ear lobe color
Post by: Guest on November 24, 2008, 07:00:59 PM
I have never had anyone ask me before what color earlobes are on the Ameraucanas, until today.

I would assume they should be red, however, they tend to be a pale pinky or skin color hue, almost with a whitish irredescence to them. Course, most of mine are molting pretty bad at the moment so skin color is a bit on the pale side. What color are they supposed to be? All my stock has come from ABC breeders so would assume this is normal.

Males\' earlobes should be 100 % red.  Females\' should be  skin color most of the time.   Some females\' may be red, and that\'s OK, but most often is not.   Avoid enamel white lobes in both sexes.
