Exhibiting & Promoting / Updated Points and New Reports on the Website
« on: February 23, 2018, 01:37:26 AM »
The Points have been updated to the most current information available.

I have also added two new pages to the Points page.  Under the description for Master Exhibitor is a link to a listing of all who have earned their Master Exhibitor title, the date it was earned, and the show where it was earned.  You can click on the Show Name to open the Meet Report for that Show.

Under the description for Junior Master Exhibitor is a link to a similar listing of all who have earned their Junior Master Exhibitor title, the date it was earned, and the show where it was earned.  You can also click on those Show Names to open the Meet Report for that show.

Here is what those reports look like:

At the rate you folks are winning, it won't be long before we are awarding the first Grand Master Exhibitor title!

Exhibiting & Promoting / Meet Reports
« on: February 22, 2018, 06:05:57 PM »
With the exception of two meet reports - Tulsa State Fair and Lawrence County - I am caught up on Meet Reports that we have received.  All have been uploaded to the website, so if you don't see a Meet Report listed, it means we haven't received it.

I'm working on getting points updated now.

As I'm getting caught up with Meet Reports, I'm finding new awards, too. :)

Please congratulate Madison Budde for earning Junior Master Exhibitor and Paul & Angela Smith for earning Master Exhibitor.

I'll wait til I'm caught up on the backlog of Meet reports before ordering the new plaques, as I suspect there are a few more just waiting to be discovered!

Congratulations!!

January Gallery Competition - White Ameraucana

A new competition for photos for the ABC Gallery began on June 1st, 2017. Every month, a new variety will be selected for folks to send their images in of adults, chicks, young started birds. The best photos will then be selected by a panel of judges: Walt Leonard, Rip Stalvey, and Tom Roebuck.

The winning photos will be announced and used in our ABC Gallery.

After a brief hiatus for the holidays, the next competition begins now and entries will close on January 15th, so dust off those photos and get them sent in! The variety for the January competition is White Ameraucanas, bantam and large fowl. You can send pics of adult male and female (profile shots preferred), chicks (group images ok), and young started birds.

The goal is to have the best representation of each variety, at the various stages of development, in our gallery.

Pictures must be a minimum of 600px wide x 400 px high to be included. Send your photos to info@ameraucanabreedersclub.org and put "Gallery Competition" in the subject line.

News and Information / "Phishing" the Breeder's Directory
« on: December 27, 2017, 03:46:54 PM »
Just a quick note to all our faithful members and followers:
Someone has recently "phished" our breeder's directory listing on our website and is sending out membership solicitation notices to the emails gathered from that process.

The IP address that "phished" our breeder's directory will be blocked from our website shortly; however, if you do not desire to receive any further communication from that email, pm, or ip address, we recommend you block it, as well.

If you welcome those solicitations, then you need take no further action.

One final note: The ABC welcomes everyone, whether they are members of another specialty club, APA, ABA, or not. But we don't condone or accept using our member's breeder's directory profile for such solicitations.

Edited (12/29/17): I have removed the word "phishing" from the above, as it was an incorrect use of the word.  "Phishing" is defined as: the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers." There was no intent to harvest member's personal information for fraudulent activity.  The emails sent could legitimately be called "spam", which is defined as: Email spam, also known as unsolicited bulk email (UBE), junk mail, or unsolicited commercial email (UCE), is the practice of sending unwanted email messages, frequently with commercial content, in large quantities to an indiscriminate set of recipients.

Hi folks

I just wanted to let everyone know that there has been a change in our meet policy, effective from this day forward for all meets.

CH and Reserve CH Ameraucana will be recognized and accorded points for National and District Meets only.  I will be making a change in the Meet Policy that goes out to all clubs hosting meets, and I or Temple will make the necessary change to our Meet Reports.

Thanks!
