Barring and slate legs

I have been breeding some cuckoo and accidentally found a gene that allows slate legs in the presence of barring but unfortunately it is useless.I produce some smokey whites from crossing dominate white and black. One of these hens was in with the cuckoo roo. I took her out after I started saving eggs. I have a young pullet that is smokey barred with dark slate legs. She has barring that is hard to see as she is nearly white [ dirty white].I have noticed in the presence of dominate white slate seems to darken.I know the lack of slate legs on barred is considered a deal breaker but they are genetically slate and barring turns them to white with slate spots and they do not corrupt leg color in the breed.I am content to call them easter eggers.
