Sexing Chicks

Hi, was wondering if anyone out there could help us. We have our very first Ameraucana chicks - they are now almost five weeks old. They are almost fully feathered and the combs are starting to emerge. Can anyone give us some insight into how we tell the roosters from the pullets? Thanx in advance

Some varieties can be sexed by color at that age.
Otherwise, look for pointed feathers in the hackle and saddle areas for males, females will have rounded feathers in those areas.

Thank you for your input. We went out to the barn and took a closer look at the babies and we guessed. But both of us guessed the same on all 26 - 13 pullets and 13 roosters. We\'ll see how well we did when they\'re older  :thinking:
