With the thousands of eggs I\'ve collected over the decades I don\'t remember any looking like this...from a LF black today!

:stare: Is she still alive? That is very strange.

I had an mini egg inside of regular sized egg. This happened with my white LF a few times

The hens are fine.  The spot where it bends is like a hinge and I can see membrane in there when I peek.  The shell is fragile and has cracked in a couple places where it looks like segments coming together.  The very small end has bluish shell that is soft becoming membrane like material sticking out.  This photo has a white napkin in the background, so I did adjust the contrast and the colors may look bluer than the real shell.
If regular blue eggs can fetch $200 for a half dozen on one of those auction sites I\'d like to get 5 more like this one to auction off and then retire!

Someone on BYC posted a picture just like that from a goose.  The bird was sick and depressed, but I believe recovered.

Dak,
It looks like the Goose \"egg\" is shell-less.

Barry Koffler has one similar to mine, on FeatherSite, but it looks like just the first (bigger) half of mine.

Beth,
I took your advise and here is the reply.

Dear Mr Blehm

I am working on the new book for Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Thank you for your email concerning your oddly shaped egg. It is definitely something that we will consider for inclusion in our new book which comes out in September 2012, and our cartoon research team will consider it as well.

Very cool! They have a Ripley\'s museum down in Myrtle Beach, and that\'s just the type of thing I could picture in there.
