BV vs. BB
« on: December 03, 2012, 09:09:07 AM »
I showed a Silver pullet in a small Connersville, Indiana show over the weekend.  She is only 7 months old but a real sweetheart.  I also showed a couple of Black Orpington pullets.  This was my first show with the sole goal of learning as much as possible.  I succeeded in this.

My Orps got BV and RV (with only 1 other Black).  There were only 2 other LF Ameraucanas in the show, and the other two were in fact EE (no judge's ranking). My Silver was marked BV but not BB.  Should I read something here between the lines, or do you suppose the judge just didn't think BB was appropriate since there really weren't any others of the breed?

Yes.  She would also be BB in that situation.  The judge didn't take the time to make it on the coop card, but it is an automatic win of BB and will be recorded as such when show reports are made out.
