Buffs with Wheatens?
« on: February 11, 2013, 05:28:41 PM »
Can I put my buffs in with my wheatons?

If so, what would I get?

Would it 'improve' feather color in one of them?

The wheatons are from Paul and the buffs from John if that helps...

Also, for certain, one of my buffs is crowing so I have at least one rooster in the group at this point. All are last spring's chicks...

So I guess my question is SHOULD I put the buffs I got from John with the wheatens as they may not NEED any improvement except maybe in egg color?

I did find an older post that said to put buffs with wheatens to improve buff color.  So if my question were just for housing, that would also be ok and become a 'project' pen for bluer eggs, as it also said that wheaten could be used over buffs for egg color!

I do have a lot of the blacks and blues, but only a few of the w/bw/and buffs, so for housing I think I know what to do now.

I'm trying to find all the info from the 'old' forum that went into how the LF were made and who had what so I don't go BACKWARD with my birds.
