Splash Ameraucana - acceptance in both LF and Bantam

<< < (2/3) > >>

Don:
The  SPLASH folks are just coming out by droves.      Should be fun.

Mindy Waters:
I joined the APA this year and have been breeding and exhibiting LF splash this year as well. Excited for this!

Don:
Great to have you interested in helping Mindy.  We will put your name on the list of LF Splash breedersAPA members starting this year.  We still need a few folks that are longer term APA member/breeders of the color in both LF and bantam to have the process go more quickly from start date.  And after this fall the APA National meet moves to CA which might be difficult to gather enough breeders in one show. We can however start to look for a orchestrated location for some larger entries for a couple shows. These are required for the variety application to be scheduled for the two quailfying meets.  We might try an effort to gather breeders at Columbus this fall.  Maybe folks coming to help with the Self Blue meet will bring some splash entries as well.

Cesar “CJ”:
Don’t you have to be a APA member for 5 years to be counted as a breeder ?

Don:
Yes CJ, the APA requires that 5-5year breeders/members sign affidavits to that effect as a part of the application process. That would be for both the Lf and bantam varieties. We'd also have to demonstate some shows where the varieties were shown in numbers before we can begin the 2 Qualification shows. That's why we had to have the Pre-qualification shows before the Qualification Meets for the Self Blues.

The ABA does not have the history requirement. So Bantams Could possibly be accepted earlier by the ABA.
