Kris, several years ago I had my old sportsman incubator loaded to the hilt. I turned off the egg turner to candle eggs at about day 12 if I remember right. For some reason I forgot to turn the egg turner back on. I did not notice this until about day 17. I was perplexed as to if I should throw the eggs out or not. That was all I needed a batch of crippled and deformed chicks. I called my brother who had been raising chickens for over 50 years and asked him what should I do? His advice was go ahead and let the eggs hatch and see what happens. The outcome was a normal hatch fertility wise and no deformed or crippled chicks and a huge sigh of relief!!!!!! Needless to say I always double check now to see if the egg turner is turned back on after candling eggs.
