pseudo barring on mauve chickens
« on: March 21, 2023, 10:10:47 PM »
Curious as to the cause behind this sort of "barring" that is on my blue and mauve chickens. Does it have something to do with the dilution gene? Feed related? It's most visible in their tail and wing feathers.

Also, does anyone know the cause behind the oddly placed axial? feather when the wing is folded? Is that just a thing that happens or is it something structural? it often seems to be only one wing that has the feather sticking out.

I wonder if it could be stress-related. When I get some free time I’ll do some research!
