It seems several packing solutions can help prevent eggshells being broken, but the gel could perhaps provide some extra \'float\' absorption to help important internal contents from getting discombobulated from jostling.

The gel sheet in the photo I got from Thermosafe, but I had to contact them to get a sample.  http://www.thermosafe.com/  I believe they sell it in large quantities.  Maybe a supplier would like to retail it in smaller amounts.
