He is not a recognized variety, but looks to have the breed characteristics. They are good photos, but without being able to look him over more I can\'t see all the traits that would make him an Ameraucana (provided he also had the correct color(s) & feather pattern to be a recognized variety).
A few year ago I had one that looked like him and he was used in a LF brown red project, because even though he doesn\'t meet the brown red description he was the closest we had. I think he is, what they call, split at the E-locus for Extended Black(E) and Birchen(E^R). If he came from black parents I would guess the hen is also E/E^R. Extended Black seems to cover the Birchen (whether gold or silver shows) better on females than males.
He may be used as a breeder to produce blacks or brown reds if nothing better is available, but wouldn\'t recommend it unless you are looking for a project.
